A study published in the most recent Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery—Global Open®, the official open-access medical journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, has found that new liposuction techniques are able to produce remarkable results both in the short and long-term.
Taking place over 20 years and collecting data from over 4,000 patients, this study suggests that advanced liposculpture techniques performed on the hips, flanks, and thighs not only remove bulky and unsightly fat cells, but also encourage optimal skin tightening. What’s more, these newer liposuction techniques enjoy a very small rate of complications. In fact, during the course of the study only one of the 4,000 participants experienced complications that could not be addressed with a simple antibiotic.
